California’s Capitol is home to a resurgent chapter of the CSBA. The Chapter’s growth has increased with the increase in general fishery in our area. Our members are drawn from Sacramento and many of its outlying areas. We have members from Elk Grove, Wilton, Yuba City, Marysville and Woodland Many of these far fling members are recruited from our appearances in the various sports and boat shows during our annual fund raiser; "A BOAT FOR A BUCK" raffle. Last year over six thousand tickets were sold and thousands of people were exposed to "save the fisheries" philosophy of the California Striped Bass Association.

The net proceeds from the raffle help us support the statewide effort to increase the Striped Bass fishery and to help us promote the sport of fishing in general. Several years ago our club helped Gary Voet, Sport Writer for the Sacramento Bee stage a 1st "Catch a Smile Day". Since then we have played a major role in this annual event. We have contributed time and money to the effort to bringing the excitement of fishing to groups of handicapped children. We help these children experience for themselves the thrill of landing a big fish. Each year certain families are chosen to spend a weekend with their handicapped child at a fishing resort in order to enjoy the fishing experience in a more natural setting.

Our club meets the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Golden Tee Restaurant 3216 Auburn Blvd. Sacramento CA 95821, (916) 483-1861. Dinner starts when you get there and complimentary hors d'oeuvre are at 8:00 PM. Our meetings include: a speaker on some aspect of fishing or boating; delicious snacks provided by the restaurant; fishing reports by members (AKA - lies); planning for our monthly group fishing trips and, of course, good fellowship and fun. There is no charge for attending the meetings and all guests are welcome.

Our monthly newsletter keeps our members informed on what’s happening locally and from the State Board.
